How to Have a Las Vegas Wedding Reception That's Easy and Stress-Free

Are you planning to get married in Vegas but think that planning a reception will be too much hassle, or that you'll have to give up having one at all? Think again, Vegas wedding receptions are happening and are not a huge deal to organize from your home.

First of all, you can breathe a sigh of relief because having a reception in Las Vegas makes this job so much easier. Many of the larger venues provide this service, including some of the chapels. This means that you have to make very few decisions about your reception.

Your Vegas wedding reception can be as small as just having a champagne toast or as grand as a full meal, DJ and all-out party.

If you are planning a full-scale reception in Las Vegas these venues will make sure everything is done for you. All you have to do is make a few small decisions such as color choices, food and reception package desired - then leave the rest to them.

Your reception should showcase a little of your personality yet be a fun place for your guests to enjoy themselves. You can choose a full meal or light snacks, full bar or beer and wine.

Some couples like to go all out and have a beautiful ice sculpture or chocolate fountain at their reception and there are local Vegas companies ready to make that happen for you.

So don't rule out having your reception in Las Vegas, it could be the best party you've ever been to.

Love, Honor and Obey-The History Of Wedding Vows

Once upon a time, thankfully not ours, women were considered property. Marriage contracts were usually a financial transaction. A lot of bargaining would take place before a marriage to settle on the bride price, with the poor female the pawn of it all. They had little choice in the matter of whom they would marry. "Love is for the poor for they do not care if they starve, because they already are", was the belief.

When they were led down the altar, they would seem to be so docile. The truth is that some were usually drugged so that they wouldn't run away. The practice of being veiled was embraced as a way that the groom wouldn't see the bride's tears. The women would have to say out loud that they would love, honor and OBEY the man who now was their husband and that was that.

Thanks to women's lib, this is no longer the case. The ladies may choose their mates, be it for financial gain or for love; maybe even both. They are considered equal partners of the men they will marry and as such the vows have been changed to love, honor and cherish.

Of course, you don't need to use those vows either. You can make your vows completely personal and from the heart. It can make your wedding more memorable for both of you. Just check first with your officiant if you can go ahead and do this, some may be really strict and insist on the basic vows (though they are rare).

Your Las Vegas Wedding Cake - Is It Good Enough to Eat?

If you're planning on having your wedding in Las Vegas with a full reception, your wedding cake is an important decision you'll have to make.

Unfortunately you won't have the advantage of personally viewing and tasting the cake in advance, if you're traveling to Vegas from out of town.

There are many flavors and styles to choose from. Your Las Vegas wedding coordinator can advise you fully about this important decision.

Here are some considerations though, when choosing your wedding cake:

• The size of the cake should be based upon the number of guests in attendance.

• If the reception is to take place outdoors, care must be taken to choose a cake without egg sugar crystal, whipped cream or ice cream as it may spoil and melt.

• Make sure if flowers are used to decorate the cake that no pesticides are present in the flowers.

• If price is a consideration, you may wish to look into cakes that can only be cut on certain layers (with the balance of the cake being decoration).

The cutting of the wedding cake is an extremely important part of all wedding receptions. Most guests look forward to the time honored tradition of the bride and groom feeding each other the wedding cake.

Your wedding reception is a time for photographs to be taken so having a beautiful wedding cake makes all the difference. Take the time to choose your cake wisely and then leave it in the capable hands of your Vegas wedding coordinator.
